I am recruiting on behalf of a long term client experiencing sustained growth and commercial success; they a multi-award winning trading and risk management software provider to the energy and commodities markets.
With offices in Australia, UK, USA and clients in over twenty countries, backed by a European energy exchange company, they are recognised as a global leader in energy and commodity pricing and analytics.
The Role
My client is looking to appoint an experienced QA & Release Manager to join their engineering team full-time in Sydney CBD, reporting to the Head of Engineering.
This hands-on senior role includes leading a small QA team, driving quality engineering best practice, owning release management, and software license administration.
The role is ideal for someone with a strong background in test automation, integration testing and quality engineering.The primary duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Leading, mentoring and developing a small QA team, driving continuous improvement in QA processes and practices.
- Owning and evolving automated testing capability (including an existing Python-based framework), with a focus on integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
- Overseeing test planning, execution and quality reporting across multiple projects.
- Owning and improving the release process, coordinating release readiness, regression testing and production verification across Development, QA and Customer Success.
- Managing application licensing across the product suite, ensuring provisioning aligns with client contracts and coordinating renewals with compliance and account management.
You'll bring 7+ years' experience in Software QA, including 2+ years leading a team, and a genuine passion for robust, well-tested software.
Self-motivated and comfortable working across diverse, international teams, you'll also have:
- A quantitative degree (computer science, engineering or mathematics); ISTQB certification well regarded.
- Strong experience with automated testing frameworks ideally improving existing suites, not just executing tests.
- A solid understanding of integration, API and end-to-end testing, plus SQL Server experience.
- Experience with source control, defect-tracking tools, and driving continuous improvement in a QA/engineering function, including quality metrics reporting.
- Comfortable working across both Waterfall and Agile environments.
- Exposure to quantitative methods/finance, and ideally Python or C#/.NET.
You must have unrestricted rights to work in Australia and be able to come to the Sydney CBD access with ease.
